Mother's Fear
Bio
The name "Mothers Fear" has long been synonymous with "high energy heavyrock",
and those who have attended the live shows usually become "Fear fans" for life.
What they all seem to appreciate so much is the no nonsense approach to music
and performance the band has always adhered to. The core of the band has always
been the writing team of Brian Flanagan on vocals and Robert Graves on guitar,
who have always been able to excite an audience with an intensity few could
match. Over the years the rest of the line-up has changed from time to time
but the attitude remains the same,
"Hang on tight cause the Fear is here!"
The band began in Nova Scotia and for a short time toured the Maritimes
exclusively but they soon branched out into Quebec and Ontario to expand
heir audience and job market. Everywhere they went their reputation as a
"heavy rock, hard partying" band seemed to grow, and although the constant
touring schedule and punishing lifestyle aren't usually conducive to longevity
Mothers Fear seemed to take it in stride. Through these years they also made
several forays into the studio to record some of what seemed like an endless
collection of original music. They weren't usually satisfied with the results
though, feeling it lacked the raw power they had in such abundance live. The
stage seemed to be where the band was most at home but eight years in a bus is
taxing business. Robert and Brian decided a fresh start was in order and
relocated to the west coast in Vancouver, British Columbia, and began putting
together their own studio so they could finally get the sound they were looking
for. After a hiatus in live shows Mothers Fear is now performing again and has
released it's first, long overdue, C.D. which captures all the intensity the
band has always been known for. The band is now planning a cross Canada tour
schedule and writing and recording for their second C.D. due out next fall.
